Since IRIS was founded in 2007, we have always considered IT security to be of paramount importance. Our cyber security measures have been rigorously tested by numerous external independent assessors to ensure the highest level of security. Our software has achieved a number of third party and regulatory accreditations, including a Certificate of Networthiness from the US Department of Defence.
We recently expanded and upgraded our third-party certifications in the UK. IRIS has been awarded both Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus in accordance with the relevant UK accreditation schemes.
What is Cyber Essentials?
The Cyber Essentials scheme, introduced by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), helps organisations to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data stored on devices which connect to the Internet.
Cyber Essentials focuses on the implementation of five technical controls:
· Securing the Internet connection
· Securing the relevant devices and software
· Controlling access to data and services
· Protection from viruses and other malware
· Keeping devices and software up to date
What is the difference between Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials PLUS?
Cyber Essentials PLUS, like Cyber Essentials, helps companies ensure that they are protected against a wide variety of the most common cyber-attacks. However, with Cyber Essentials PLUS certificate, the measures and controls in place are tested and verified independently by a certification body.
What does our Cyber Essentials PLUS certification mean for you?
In being awarded accreditation under the Cyber Essentials PLUS scheme, IRIS is considered to be a good custodian of customer data by the UK National Cyber Security Center – “your data is in good hands”. Our IT systems have been certified to have effective controls to prevent and fight against cyber-attacks.
Our Cyber Essentials PLUS certification ties in closely with our commitment to provide secure and quality software services to organisations of all shapes and sizes. You can learn more about IRIS and our software services by visiting our website.
